Moving Meditation • Breath • Energy • Embodiment
A gentle practice for reconnecting with your body, calming the mind and cultivating balance, awareness and wellbeing.
What is Qigong?
Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice combining gentle movement, breath, meditation and mindful awareness. Often described as a form of moving meditation, it invites us to slow down, become present and reconnect with ourselves from the inside out.
The word Qi is traditionally understood as vital life-force energy, while Gong refers to cultivation or practice. Together, Qigong can be understood as the practice of cultivating and working with our energy.
Through gentle, intentional movement and breath, Qigong encourages us to develop greater awareness of the body, calm the mind and cultivate a deeper connection between body, mind and spirit.
A Practice of Coming Home to Yourself
Qigong is a practice that has become deeply meaningful within my own wellbeing journey.
Through movement, breath and stillness, I have found a powerful way to slow down, release tension, reconnect with my body and create more space within.
For me, Qigong is not about achieving a perfect movement or pushing the body. It is about listening, noticing and creating a relationship with yourself.
It offers a gentle invitation to pause in our busy lives and come back to what is happening within.
In a world that often feels fast-paced and chaotic, Qigong offers a sanctuary of calm and an opportunity to reconnect with our bodies and cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves. It is a powerful practice that invites us to slow down, listen to our bodies, and tap into the abundant energy that flows within and around us.
So whether you are looking to enhance your physical health, manage stress, or embark on a journey of self-discovery, Qigong can be a transformative practice that nourishes your body, mind, and spirit. Give yourself the gift of Qigong and experience the profound benefits it can bring to your life.
What to Expect
Qigong sessions are gentle, accessible and adaptable.
Depending on the session, you may experience:
- Gentle flowing movements
- Breath awareness and breathing practices
- Standing and seated Qigong
- Grounding and body awareness
- Acupressure or self-massage
- Mindful movement
- Stillness and meditation
- Energy awareness and cultivation
- Relaxation and integration
Movements are generally slow, intentional and repetitive, allowing you to develop awareness of your breath, body and internal sensations.
Sessions often conclude with stillness, meditation or relaxation, allowing time to settle and integrate the practice.
Each session is unique and designed to connect to season, collective energy and my intuition. I share an integrative practice in Qigong forms, breathwork, sometimes bringing in the Five Elements, Dantian work, meridian theory, sound healing, and visualisation to enhance restoration and mindfulness practice to support your continues day.
Qigong is for Everybody
One of the beautiful things about Qigong is its accessibility.
You don’t need to be flexible, fit or experienced to begin.
Qigong can be adapted to different ages, bodies, abilities and levels of experience. Many practices can be performed either standing or seated. Whether you are completely new to mindful movement or already have an established practice, you can meet Qigong exactly where you are.
There is no need to perform, compete or get it “right”.
Qigong is an invitation to slow down, breathe and listen to your body.
